Hi there — and thanks for taking the time to read this before using any images from the site.
One of the core things that has always made this site what it is has been the use of original photography only. Every image you see here has been taken by me personally — not sourced from press libraries, PR packs, stock sites, or other blogs. When I need an image, I go and get it myself!
The only exceptions to this are clearly marked sponsored posts, where I’m not the author of the content and external images may be used.
Using Images From This Site
Over the years, a large number of images from this site have been taken and reused elsewhere — often without permission, credit, or attribution. In some cases, they’ve even been claimed as someone else’s work. Because of this, the policy is now very clear:
✅ Permitted Use (With Attribution)
If you are an individual, blogger, or non‑commercial publisher, you may use images from this site free of charge, provided that:
Clear attribution is given to me as the creator
A visible credit is included next to the image
A clickable link back to the original article or site is provided
The image is not altered in a misleading way
The use does not imply endorsement, partnership, or sponsorship
In short: credit + link = permitted for non‑commercial use.
💼 Commercial Use
If an image is being used for commercial, profit‑generating purposes, a licence is required.
This includes (but isn’t limited to):
Monetised websites
Affiliate content / Sponsored or advertorial content
Marketing or promotional material
Corporate or brand websites
Tourism boards and trade publications
PR and media campaigns
Paid social media or advertising
In these cases, images are not free to use and a fixed licensing fee will apply, except where otherwise agreed.
Please Don’t Just Take Images
If you’d like to use an image, please don’t just lift it; reach out first. In many cases (especially for individuals and bloggers), I’m more than happy to allow use with simple attribution and a link back.
Unfortunately, repeated unauthorised use by commercial organisations – including major corporate and institutional bodies – has made it necessary to enforce this policy more strictly, including the use of automated scanning.
