After stumbling off the flight from Chicago, having successfully slept for the vast majority of the journey, I had barely 50 minutes until the departure of my Citylink coach back to Limerick – but was determined to make the most of it and, ideally, find time for a quick sojourn to the Aer Lingus Revival Lounge.

The Aer Lingus Revival Lounge is Aer Lingus’ only arrivals lounge and, to the best of my knowledge, the only arrivals lounge in Dublin Airport at all if you don’t count Platinum Services, Dublin Airport’s own VIP offering.

The lounge is almost ingeniously tucked in alongside the wall of baggage claim offices on the right-hand side of the arrivals hall of Dublin Airport’s Terminal 2, right after immigration.

Thankfully my luggage made its appearance quickly and I was straight on my way – once again lacking all sense of decency or courtesy to either wait for, or wish my colleagues well on their onward journeys.

I quickly found the lounge, and saw my way inside. The access policy seems quite tight; only those flying in business class on transatlantic services are permitted, no frequent flyer status will do the trick.

It all makes sense once you enter though; the lounge consists of approximately seven armchairs arranged in what could be a very awkward circle if the lounge was busy. In my case thankfully, nobody was there.

On the left as you enter, just after reception and before the armchairs, lies the sole food & beverage station, which has a coffee machine, bananas, some packaged snacks and croissants, and an assortment of soft drinks and fruit juices.

Considering the premise of this lounge seems to be very much a stopping-off point to freshen up before continuing your journey, this seems about adequate and certainly the packaged croissant and banana kept me going – along with a double espresso helpfully served in a to-go cup – saw me right on the back home to Limerick.

Probably the (deliberate) highlight of this lounge was the washroom & shower facilities, which were offered right away on my arrival.

Inside each of the several rooms was a generously-sized bathroom and shower, along with Voya toiletries, towels, and everything else you could need.

After a very quick but most welcome visit, it was time for me to head on and race across to my bus stop as quickly as possible.

Overall, there’s only so much that can be said about this lounge, with its compact footprint; but very welcome shower, coffee and breakfast facilities. I wouldn’t probably go out of my way even if I was eligible to visit, unless I was heading straight to work or driving back to Limerick right away – but it’s a welcome amenity to have nonetheless.
