Eirexecutive have kindly offered readers of Window Seat Preferred 30% off – just use the discount code ‘windowseatpreferred’ on your next booking!

Over the years, I’ve regularly oscillated between either getting a taxi to Dublin Airport for ‘important trips’, or paying ever-increasing amounts to park a the long-term car park – so this time we decided to try something a little more luxurious, and booked an Eirexecutive airport transfer.

Executive chauffeur transfers, to me, have often felt like they must be a costly endeavour; but fares are fixed, there’s no further luggage or toll costs, and to be honest, even without a discount code (hint, I’ve put one at the start of this article, so you’ve no excuse!) the prices are almost identical if not lower than getting a taxi – plus the reduced stress from not having to worry whether a taxi will cancel at short notice, or that one ‘can’t be found’.

By the time we woke up that morning, I already had a message from our chauffeur letting me know he’d arrive in 20 minutes – and that was accurate almost to the minute.

It took me a few minutes to accept that taking our (significant amount of) luggage from doorstep to car was part of the service, and that I didn’t need to keep trying to get involved – leaving us to just lock up the house, double/triple/quadruple check for passports, before repairing to our luxurious steed.

The cars used both ways (both different) were very spacious, well-appointed on the interior, with the centre armrest folded down and complimentary bottled water placed in advance. In as much as it matters, both cars were top tier models from Audi on our outbound journey, and BMW on our return.

Our chauffeur quickly confirmed the temperature in the cabin was suitable, our departure terminal, and our route preference to the airport – and with that off we went, for the 40-minute circuit around Dublin on the M50.

We arrived very punctually, and our chauffeur parked us as close to the entrance doors of Dublin Airport’s Terminal 1 as he could, asking us to stay put while he retrieved our luggage for us from the boot of the car, before opening the doors for us like we were absolute VIP’s.

Our return meanwhile was equally straightforward, and again we felt quite the VIP’s being met right at the arrivals of Terminal 2, having our luggage taken off us, and walked straight to our waiting BMW outside – and home from landing in under an hour!

Overall, Eirexecutive is a great new service. It’s luxurious, punctual, reliable, and as I say, very reasonable.

Again – don’t forget you can get 30% off by using the discount code ‘windowseatpreferred’ – thanks to the team at Eirexecutive for offering this to Window Seat Preferred readers!
